CARE (Consultation, Assessment, Resources, Education) Team
While interacting with students across the college, faculty and staff may be confronted with situations in which a student is displaying concerning behavior.  The CARE Team is designed to assist them.

Behaviors of concern might be observed in a number of settings: in the classroom, at a service location or office, at an on-campus job, or during participation at an extracurricular activity.  By reporting behaviors that are concerning, the CARE Team will be able to reach out to students to intervene, provide support, and connect them with resources that can assist them. Report forms are available online.

Midland College does not discriminate on the basis of disabilities in admission or access to its educational programs. The College complies with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1972 and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Accommodations for students with disabilities are provided by the Student Life Department located in the Scharbauer Student Center. An application is required for each term. Students may apply or renew here. Medical documentation must be on file to qualify for services.

Students with disabilities are encouraged to apply and submit documentation as soon as possible so accommodations are  in place at the beginning of each semester.  Accommodations may include, but are not limited to, accommodations in class, tutoring, interpreting for the deaf, readers, scribes, note takers and taped texts. Sign language interpreters or materials from Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic may require additional time to coordinate.

Service animals and assistance animals are not pets. They are an animal that works, provides assistance, or performs tasks for the benefit of a person with a disability, or provides emotional support that alleviates one or more identified symptoms or effects of a person’s disability. Midland College is committed to compliance with state and federal laws regarding individuals with disabilities.  Procedures regarding animals on campus can be found here.
