The Health Services Management (HSM) program consists of a comprehensive curriculum based on workforce competencies for the management of health services in hospitals, clinics, insurance companies, public health organizations, health technology, data analytics and informatics, and other health-related organizations. All junior- and senior-level courses (MHSM) are offered fully online.

Because HSM continues to expand, courses were developed to address interdisciplinary needs for patient care reporting and facility management, with specialization in areas of health care operations, interoperability and data mining, healthcare informatics, healthcare reporting, and financial decision-making.  The program also includes current healthcare policy, federal and accreditation regulations, financial and revenue management, personnel management, and information governance. Specialty tracks include:

  • Healthcare Administration - Prepares graduates to analyze healthcare operational needs and develop effective approaches and solutions while drawing upon an interdisciplinary perspective.  The Healthcare Administration curriculum provides financial and strategic business courses for the management of health services for health services groups, hospitals, and other health service organizations.
  • Health Informatics - Prepares graduates for a liaison role in improving quality through technology usage, coupled with workflow efficiency and understanding of regulatory and standards and skills in data operations.
