Radiologic Technology

Midland College offers an Associate of Applied Science degree in Radiologic Technology. The graduate will be eligible to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Examination.  Upon passing this examination, individuals are awarded the certification credential. 

The Midland College Radiologic Technology program has a limited enrollment based on the following criteria: 

  • Apply to Midland College 
  • Successfully complete all areas of the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) by testing or exemption.
  • Obtain a minimum score of 79 on the TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language). This requirement is for students born and educated through high school outside the United States.  The TOEFL exam score is valid for two years.
  • Complete MATH 1314, College Algebra with a minimum grade of “C” or above
  • Effective for Fall 2024 admission, complete MATH 1314, College Algebra, BIOL 2401, Anatomy and Physiology I with a minimum grade of “C” or above
  • Complete the online Health Sciences Division Application for Admission.
  • Complete immunizations including three doses of hepatitis B, two doses of mumps-measles-rubella (MMR), current tetanus-diphtheria-pertussis (Tdap), and varicella (chicken pox) titer or vaccine, and COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption.  In addition, students must have the current influenza vaccine and a tuberculosis screening annually.   must be complete in order for the application to be considered for admission. Clinical agencies require students to have the current influenza vaccine each year, as well as 2 doses of the COVID-19 vaccination or an approved medical/religious exemption
  • Provide a criminal background check.  Program personnel will conduct a background check on all applicants.
  • Obtain clearance on a urine drug screen scheduled by the department.
  • CPR training through the American Heart Association as a Professional Rescuer must be current prior to the beginning of the program and must be maintained throughout the radiologic technology program.
  • Once accepted into the program, students must complete all required courses with a letter grade of “C” or better in order to progress from one term to another.  Students must have health insurance and maintain the insurance for the duration of the program.  

The Radiologic Technology program is located at the F. Marie Hall Outpatient Center at 4214 Andrews Highway, Midland, Texas.
