NURA 1301 - Nurse Aide for Health Care 3 Hours (3-1) Knowledge, skills, and abilities essential to provide basic care to residents of long-term care facilities. Student will assist with activities of daily living including personal care; measure vital signs; assist with restorative services, positioning, and mobility; communicate effectively with residents and their families based on sensitivity to the psychosocial needs; and interact effectively as a member of the health care team. Topics include resident’s rights; infection control measures; safety; body mechanics; observation, reporting, and documenting; and professionalism.
