CHEM 1411 - General Inorganic Chemistry I 4 Hours (3-4) Fundamental principles of chemistry for majors in the sciences, health sciences, and engineering; topics include measurements, properties and states of matter, chemical reactions, stoichiometry, periodicity of elemental properties, atomic and molecular structure, chemical bonding, solutions, properties of gases, and an introduction to thermodynamics and descriptive chemistry. Laboratory experiments are designed to reinforce theoretical concepts, emphasizing the scientific method, experimental design, data collection and analysis, and the preparation of laboratory reports.
