IRWD 0370 - Integrated Reading & Writing I

READ TSI 200 or less, COMPASS 0-63. This course surveys a variety of reading materials. Students will learn to locate explicit textual information, draw inferences, and describe, and evaluate the information within the across multiple texts of varying lengths. Students will learn how to use vocabulary effectively, describe and apply insights gained from reading and writing a variety of texts. Students will learn effective editing strategies, generate ideas from texts, and recognize and apply the conventions of Standard English. This course is not for college credit. The reading TSI score will calculate placement in this course.
