Midland College offers an Associate of Applied Science degree in Airframe and Powerplant as well as certificates in Aviation Maintenance Technology. TSI (Texas Success Initiative) is required for the A.A.S.
Upon successful completion of the Airframe certificate and/or the Powerplant certificate, students are qualified to take the applicable Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) licensure examination.
Midland College is licensed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to facilitate a West Texas Federal Aviation Regulation - Part 147 aviation maintenance school. Our FAA licensed faculty, facilities, and state-of-the-art labs are fully approved to deliver an 18 -month Airframe and Powerplant (A & P) certificate or Associate of Applied Science degree program. If you enjoy using your mind to find solutions to problems, enjoy working with your hands and enjoy the feeling of self-fulfillment after completing a difficult task, then this Midland College program might be just right for you.
In June 2020, the Midland College Board of Trustees approved the closure of the Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) program. Students currently enrolled in the AMT program will be given an opportunity to finish their respective programs. No new students will be admitted.
