Turn your passion for helping others into a career in nursing! The Midland College Licensed Vocational Nursing Program is a 12-month certificate program designed to prepare students for entry into the nursing profession. After successful completion of the program, graduates are eligible to take the NCLEX-PN (National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nursing). Passing this exam allows the student to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN).

LVNs provide basic nursing care under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians. Career opportunities are available in hospitals, nursing homes and extended care facilities, physician offices, home health, private care settings, and more.

The program is offered on the main campus in Midland and in Fort Stockton at the Williams Regional Technical Training Center (WRTTC). It is approved by the Texas Board of Nursing, located at 333 Guadalupe, Suite 3-460, Austin, Texas 78701; phone (512) 305-7400.

Admission to the LVN Program is competitive due to cohort size limitations and the availability of clinical placement sites. Meeting minimum eligibility requirements does not guarantee admission. The application submission due date is July 7 each year.
