The dual credit Health Sciences Foundation offers preparation for a variety of health-related careers. Courses such as Medical Terminology, Health Care Communication, Basic Health Skills, Body Systems, Human Disease, and Wellness and Health Promotion serve as a foundation for concept and skill exploration. Students can build on the foundation by pursuing certifications in Nurse Aide, EKG Technician, and Phlebotomy, with opportunities to complete programs in Patient Care Technician, Medical Assistant or Pharmacy Tech. This sets the students on a pathway toward healthcare professions such as nursing or college health science programs. The programs offer state-of-the-art equipment and connections to our local medical community through guest speakers, field trips, and clinical placements.
