The Health Sciences Foundation offers preparation for a variety of health-related careers. Courses such as Medical Terminology, Health Care Communication Skills, Body Systems, Human Disease, and Health Promotion serve as a foundation for concept and skill exploration. As a part of the Health Sciences Academy, students can later pursue certifications in Certified Nurse Aide (CNA), Pharmacy Tech, EKG Technician and Phlebotomy Technician, with opportunities to complete programs in Patient Care Technician or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). This academy also sets the students on a pathway toward healthcare professions such as nursing or college medical programs. The academy offers state-of-the-art equipment and connections to our local medical community through guest speakers, field trips, and clinical placements.
