Organizational Management (Bachelor of Applied Technology)

The Organizational Management program objectives include developing managers and leaders who can identify opportunities, demonstrate the ability to embrace change, take the initiative to apply new technologies and have the courage to empower others in an organization to achieve greater positive results. The program prepares students for positions as project managers, entrepreneurs, customer service managers and other roles requiring an understanding of management operations in complex and challenging environment.

Program objectives include developing managers and leaders who can identify opportunities, demonstrate the ability to embrace change, take the initiative to apply new technologies and have the courage to empower others in an organization to achieve greater positive results. The program also prepares students for positions as project managers, entrepreneurs, customer service managers and other roles requiring an understanding of management operations in complex and challenging global economies.

Program Admission Requirements

In order to be admitted, students must:

Meet all College admission requirements (application, transcripts, etc.).
Complete a program admission application and receive approval from the Program Admission Committee.
Have an Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree or equivalent. (Students who have completed an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree may seek entrance to the program after completing 30 credit hours of approved technical specialty coursework. See Department Chair for additional information.)

Students without an AAS

Students who are within 15 credit hours of completing their AAS degree and who have completed the following courses may enroll in up to two upper-division courses prior to being admitted:

ENGL 1301
SPCH elective
TSI complete in Math

Completion Requirements

To receive a Bachelor of Applied Technology (BAT) degree, a student must satisfy the requirements of the Texas Success Initiative and:

Have an approved Associate in Applied Science or equivalent.
Complete a minimum of 120 credit hours as follows:
- 30 credit hours of approved technical specialty coursework drawn from the associate degree or approved leveling coursework,
- 42 credit hours of required Core Curriculum coursework, and
- 48 credit hours of upper level coursework.
Complete a minimum of 30 upper level credit hours required for the degree through instruction at Midland College.
Have an overall GPA of at least 2.0 for college-level coursework that applies to the degree.
Have a grade of “C” or better in each approved technical specialty course and each junior and senior level course.
