ANTH 2351 - Cultural Anthropology 3 Hours (3-0)
The study of human cultures. Topics may include social organization, institutions, diversity, interactions between human groups, and ethics in the discipline. Students will study human culture in historical perspective by examining the development of culture as well as comparing present cultures. Additional topics may include an introduction anthropology and its subfields; the characteristics of culture; language and communication; social, personality, and gender identity; patterns of subsistence and exchange; sex, marriage, and the family; kinship and other methods of grouping; politics, power, and violence; spirituality, religion and the supernatural; mechanisms of change; and global challenges and the role of anthropology. ANTH 2389 - Internship in Anthropology 3 Hours (0-7)
An instructional program designed to integrate on-campus study with practical hands-on experience in anthropology. In conjunction with class seminars, the individual student will set specific goals and objectives in the study of human social behavior and/or social institutions.
