VNSG 1304 - Foundations of Nursing

3 Hours (2-3-0)
This course is an introduction to the nursing profession including history, standards of practice, legal and ethical issues, and the role of the vocational nurse. Topics will include basic content on normal physiological functions and pharmacological principles. Other content will include mental health as it applies to psychosocial needs of clients and their families, therapeutic communication, cultural and spiritual diversity, nursing process, and holistic awareness.
